FTC Disclosure Requirement

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising, we provide the following disclosure to ensure full transparency with our users.

1. Overview

Forensic Domains is committed to transparency regarding our business relationships and how we generate revenue. This disclosure explains our affiliate relationships, how they affect content, and your rights as a consumer.

We may receive compensation when you click on links or make purchases through our platform. This compensation helps us provide free and premium services to our users.

2. Our Affiliate Relationships

We maintain affiliate relationships with the following partners:

2.1 Domain Registrars

When you click on links to purchase domains, we may earn a commission from registrars including:

  • Namecheap - Up to 35% commission
  • GoDaddy - Via Commission Junction (CJ)
  • Dynadot - Up to 30% commission
  • Spaceship - Contact-based commission

Note: Porkbun and Cloudflare Registrar do not offer affiliate programs. We include them in price comparisons because they offer competitive pricing.

2.2 Domain Auction Platforms

We may earn referral commissions from domain auction platforms including:

  • GoDaddy Auctions
  • NameJet
  • DropCatch
  • Sedo
  • Afternic

3. How Affiliate Links Work

When you click an affiliate link on Forensic Domains:

  1. A tracking cookie may be placed on your browser
  2. You are redirected to the partner's website
  3. If you make a purchase within the cookie window (typically 30-90 days), we may receive a commission
  4. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or not

Using our affiliate links does NOT increase the price you pay. In some cases, we negotiate exclusive discounts that can actually save you money.

4. Editorial Independence

Our affiliate relationships do NOT influence our editorial content, domain analysis, or recommendations. We are committed to:

  • Objective Analysis: Domain metrics and scores are based solely on data, not affiliate relationships
  • Honest Reviews: We recommend products based on quality, not commission rates
  • User-First Approach: Our primary goal is helping you succeed, not maximizing commissions
  • Disclosure: We clearly mark affiliate links and sponsored content

If a product or service doesn't meet our quality standards, we won't recommend it regardless of potential commissions.

5. How to Identify Affiliate Links

We mark affiliate links in the following ways:

  • Links may include tracking parameters (e.g., ?ref=forensicdomains)
  • "Buy Now" or "Register Domain" buttons on price comparison tables
  • Registrar links display the "Affiliate" badge
  • Price comparison shows "Affiliate link - we may earn commission"

You always have the option to visit partner websites directly without using our affiliate links.

6. Domain Recommendations

When we display expired domains or make recommendations, our rankings are based on objective metrics including:

  • Domain Authority (from Open PageRank)
  • Backlink quality and quantity (from CommonCrawl)
  • Spam score and risk assessment
  • Domain age and history
  • Price-to-value ratio

We do NOT rank domains higher because we earn more commission from certain registrars. Our algorithms are commission-agnostic.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Our platform uses artificial intelligence to generate content including:

  • Domain analysis reports
  • Blog post suggestions
  • Social media content
  • FAQ schema content
  • Voice assistant responses (Jessica)

AI-generated content is clearly labeled and should be reviewed and edited before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific purpose.

8. Testimonials and Reviews

Any testimonials or reviews displayed on our platform:

  • Represent the honest opinions of actual users
  • May not be representative of all users' experiences
  • Are disclosed if the reviewer received any compensation
  • Include material connections where applicable

We do not pay for positive reviews. Users who provide testimonials may receive free service extensions or credits, which will be disclosed.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Know when content contains affiliate links
  • Choose not to use affiliate links
  • Request information about specific affiliate relationships
  • Report undisclosed affiliate relationships

If you believe we have failed to properly disclose an affiliate relationship, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Disclosure

We may update this Affiliate Disclosure as our partnerships change. We will update the "Last Updated" date and may notify you of material changes via email or site notice.
